I'm working on an exciting opportunity for an experienced Azure Cloud DBA Engineer to join a large-scale cloud transformation program. This role will suit someone who combines strong Azure infrastructure expertise with hands-on database administration and migration experience. You'll play a key role in designing, migrating, securing, and optimising cloud-based database environments while supporting broader Azure cloud engineering initiatives. Location - Canberra, Melbourne or Sydney NV1 Mandatory Key Responsibilities Lead end-to-end database migrations to Azure SQL PaaS Administer, maintain and optimise cloud-hosted databases Implement backup, recovery and disaster recovery solutions Monitor and improve database performance, availability and reliability Design and support secure, scalable Azure cloud environments Collaborate with infrastructure, security and project teams Support cloud migration planning, assessments and cutover activities Implement cloud security controls, governance and compliance requirements Contribute to automation, operational excellence and cost optimisation initiatives Ensure solutions align with security, architecture and operational standards Skills & Experience Strong hands-on experience with Microsoft Azure Proven experience delivering Azure SQL Database (PaaS) migrations Experience with Azure Data Migration Service and related migration tools Strong database administration experience across: Microsoft SQL Server PostgreSQL MySQL MongoDB MariaDB Oracle PowerShell scripting and automation experience Azure DevOps, CI/CD pipelines and Git exposure Strong understanding of Azure networking, identity and security Experience with cloud monitoring, logging and alerting solutions Knowledge of cloud governance, compliance and security frameworks Highly Regarded Microsoft Certified: Azure Database Administrator Associate Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator Associate Experience working within Federal Government or regulated environments charterhouse.com.au 0426427
