About Us Novocon Pty Ltd is a telecommunications company delivering telecommunications infrastructure, installation, testing, commissioning, and maintenance services across Australia. We are currently seeking a motivated and experienced Telecommunication Technologist to join our growing team and support delivery of telecommunications projects across various sites. Key Responsibilities Design, install, configure, test, commission, and maintain telecommunications systems and infrastructure. Perform installation, testing, troubleshooting, and fault rectification of fibre optic, copper, RF, and telecommunications network systems. Conduct cable testing and certification using telecommunications testing equipment including Anritsu Site Master and related test instruments. Analyse test results and network performance data to identify faults and recommend corrective actions. Perform fibre optic testing including OTDR, insertion loss, and cable certification activities. Assist with commissioning and integration of telecommunications equipment and systems. Read and interpret telecommunications drawings, schematics, and technical specifications. Prepare technical reports, testing records, and project documentation. Ensure all works are completed in accordance with Australian Standards, safety requirements, and company procedures. Liaise with project managers, clients, subcontractors, and internal teams to deliver project outcomes. Support telecommunications infrastructure projects including construction, upgrades, maintenance, and network expansions. Participate in site inspections, fault investigations, and preventative maintenance activities. Essential Requirements Relevant qualification in Telecommunications Technology, Telecommunications Engineering, Electronics, or related discipline. Minimum 1–2 years of relevant work experience in telecommunications installation, testing, commissioning, or maintenance. Experience using telecommunications testing equipment, including Anritsu testing equipment. PTA Protection Officer accreditation Level 1, 2, and 3 (preferred / required depending on project requirements). Construction White Card. High Risk Work Licence (HRWL) (advantageous / required depending on role requirements). Current Australian Driver’s Licence. Ability to work across metropolitan and regional project sites. Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills. Good communication and technical reporting skills.
