We are seeking skilled E&I Technicians with strong knowledge of IEC AS/NZS 60079 standards, proven reporting capability, and demonstrated experience building work packs. This role covers Ex inspection & compliance scopes, desktop review, and reporting of certified equipment installed in hazardous areas. Key Responsibilities Carry out visual, close, and detailed inspections on E&I equipment in accordance with AS/NZS 60079 standards and client requirements. Prepare accurate, professional inspection reports with clear defect identification, photographs, and recommendations. Build and compile comprehensive work packs for EEHA isnpection activities, including permits, JSA/SWMS, drawings, procedures, test sheets, and all supporting documentation. Maintain and update hazardous area verification dossiers (HAVD), equipment registers, and ITPM (Inspection, Testing & Preventive Maintenance) plans. Support shutdowns, turnarounds, and routine maintenance campaigns. Ensure all work complies with relevant Australian standards, site procedures, and safety requirements. Liaise effectively with supervisors, engineers, and operations teams. Requirements & Experience Cert III or Cert IV in Electrical Instrumentation (or equivalent) – essential. IECEx CoPC or EEHA (Ex) Inspection accreditation Minimum 4 years’ experience as an E&I Technician, preferably in oil & gas, mining, or heavy industry. Strong inspection reporting skills with the ability to produce clear, concise, and audit-ready documentation. Knowledge of Ex certified assemblies and certification process Demonstrated experience building and managing work packs from scope development through to execution. Solid understanding of hazardous area classification and AS/NZS 60079 series. Strong safety mindset and familiarity with permit-to-work systems. Highly Regarded Experience dealing with OEMs Rope access or working at heights certification. Strong digital literacy and report writing ability. In date offshore certs & medical Experience with CMMS systems (SAP, Maximo, Oracle, etc.).
