Global Art Services Pty Ltd is seeking a detail-oriented Accounts Assistant to support our growing finance team. This flexible work-from-home role involves accounts payable and receivable, bank reconciliations and general accounting support for our Australian and US based companies, using QuickBooks Online. Ideal candidates will have bookkeeping or accounting experience, strong organisational skills, and confidence working independently. Role Details · Flexible start date · 15-20 hours per week · Casual role transitioning to permanent part-time · Work from home position Key Responsibilities · Manage the purchase ledger through Bill.com, including: o entering supplier bills o processing payments o ledger reconciliations o vendor management · Prepare and distribute weekly accounts receivable reports to the sales teams · Enter sales invoices and ensure sales tax rules and rates are applied correctly · Process and post bank transactions · Enter payroll journals and reconcile payroll-related accounts · Complete monthly bank and credit card reconciliations · Respond to internal and external accounting enquiries in a timely manner · Maintain accounting files and documentation in OneDrive · Provide general support to the accounting team, including covering duties during team leave periods · Assist with year-end reconciliations for US tax returns · Assist with monthly multi-state US sales tax filings Preferred Skills & Experience · Proficiency in QuickBooks Online · Experience working with multi-currency systems and foreign exchange transactions · Minimum 3 years' experience in an accounting or bookkeeping role · Certificate III or IV in Bookkeeping and Accounting, or equivalent experience (QBE) · Strong understanding of double-entry bookkeeping principles · Experience maintaining and reconciling balance sheet accounts · Strong Microsoft Excel and general systems skills Ideal Qualities · Willingness to learn and work within US accounting and tax requirements · Comfortable working with a US-based team across different time zones · High level of accuracy and attention to detail · Strong organisational and time management skills · Ability to work independently and manage competing priorities · Professional communication skills and a proactive approach to problem-solving
