Senior Mining Engineer - Eloise Copper Mine About Us: AIC Mines is entering an exciting period of growth across our North West Queensland operations, with Jericho Mine staging into production over the coming months. As we ramp up activity and prepare for this next stage, we are looking for an experienced and motivated Senior Mining Engineer to join our growing copper business. Located near Cloncurry in North West Queensland, Eloise Copper Mine is an established underground operation producing high-grade copper concentrate. Together with the development of Jericho, Eloise forms an important part of AIC Mines’ growth strategy and offers the opportunity to join a strong operational team focused on safety, teamwork, performance, and continuous improvement. About the Role: Reporting to the Technical Services Manager, you will be responsible for supporting safe, efficient and productive underground mining operations across Eloise and Jericho. Key responsibilities include: Delivering short-term mine planning for the operation. Reviewing and optimising mine designs and quarterly budgets. Reviewing engineering designs and plans to ensure safety requirements are met. Leading and mentoring a small team of engineers. Supervising day-to-day activities within the engineering department. Developing and managing operational budgets. Supporting Jericho Mine as it stages into production, including: Mine engineering design. Ventilation design support. Project work, including shaft excavation and pumping. Design optimisation and scenario planning. Rapid development tracking and ground support oversight. Ensuring environmental compliance and supporting activities that minimise the impact of mining operations on the environment. Providing coverage as the alternate Underground Manager when required. Monitoring and improving productivity. Communicating effectively with mining contractors and key stakeholders. Contributing to a safe, reliable and continuously improving operation. Contributing to a safe and reliable operation. The position is FIFO from Townsville or Brisbane on an 8/6 roster. About You: You will bring strong underground mining experience, practical leadership capability and the confidence to contribute to both established operations and new production activities as Jericho stages into production. A bachelor’s degree in mining engineering or similar plus additional certifications in the field of mining. Several years in underground metalliferous mining. Extensive knowledge of mining processes, equipment and technologies, as well as developed leadership, analytical problem-solving and decision making skills. Previous experience with contractor management. Financial acumen, with the ability to manage budgets and optimize mining operations for profitability. Ability to conduct feasibility studies and economic analyses for mining projects. Excellent communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively across teams.
