As we ramp up activity and prepare for this next stage, we are looking for an experienced and motivated Ventilation Engineer to join our growing copper business. Located near Cloncurry in North West Queensland, Eloise Copper Mine is an established underground operation producing high-grade copper concentrate. Together with the development of Jericho, Eloise forms an important part of AIC Mines’ growth strategy and offers the opportunity to join a strong operational team focused on safety, teamwork, performance, and continuous improvement. About the position: We are seeking an experienced Ventilation Engineer to join our Technical Services team at Eloise Copper Mine. Reporting to the Technical Services Manager, you will be responsible for the design, monitoring and optimisation of underground ventilation systems to support safe and efficient production across the Eloise and Jericho mines. This role carries statutory accountability and will play a key part in ensuring compliance with Queensland mining legislation while supporting ongoing mine development and expansion. The position is FIFO from Townsville or Brisbane on an 8/6 roster. Local candidates from Cloncurry or surrounding communities are also encouraged to apply. Accommodation is provided onsite at the Eloise Copper Mine, located 65km from Cloncurry. Key Responsibilities Fulfil the duties of the appointed Statutory Ventilation Officer in accordance with Queensland legislation. Develop, implement and maintain the Ventilation Management Plan (VMP). Ensure compliance with ventilation-related legislation, exposure standards and site procedures. Conduct statutory ventilation inspections, audits and reporting. Design, monitor and optimise underground ventilation systems. Maintain and update ventilation models (Ventsim) and complete scenario modelling to support mine planning. Determine airflow and infrastructure requirements for development, stoping and fleet changes. Monitor and manage airflow, DPM, heat load and atmospheric contaminants to ensure safe working conditions. Support the technical design and implementation of ventilation infrastructure for the Jericho Expansion Project. Prepare technical scopes of work and support procurement and contractor management processes. Participate in emergency response planning and continuous improvement initiatives. Collaborate with Mining, Geotechnical, Maintenance and Planning teams to support safe and productive operations. About You: You will bring strong underground hard rock mining experience, technical ventilation capability and the confidence to provide statutory and operational support across a growing mining operation. To be successful in this role, you will have: Bachelor of Engineering (Mining or related discipline). Formal education in Mine Ventilation. Eligibility for appointment as Statutory Ventilation Officer under Queensland legislation. Minimum 5 years’ experience in underground hard rock mining. Demonstrated experience in ventilation design and modelling (e.g. Ventsim). Strong understanding of underground fleet ventilation requirements, DPM controls and heat load management. Experience conducting ventilation surveys and compliance audits. Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills. Manual QLD Driver’s Licence.
