IMMEDIATE START Mertens Motors' is looking for an experienced Heavy Duty Mechanic, Vehicle examiner to join our team in Bibra Lake, Western Australia. This is a full-time role with an immediate start, offering the opportunity to work on a wide range of heavy machinery and vehicles to keep our operations running smoothly. If you feel you fit the required profile, are expert in all fields of heavy duty road transport repair, service and maintenance and have excellent people skills we are looking for you. What you'll be doing Perform routine maintenance and repair tasks on heavy-duty vehicles, construction equipment and other machinery Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical issues using specialized tools and equipment Carry out overhaul and rebuild work on engines, transmissions, differentials and other major components Maintain detailed records of work performed and parts used Ensure all work is completed to high standards of quality and safety Collaborate with the wider team to optimise workshop efficiency and productivity Fill the role of Authourised Vehicle Examiner after qualification What we're looking for Certificate IV in Heavy Diesel Mechanics is required as the specific formal qualification. Minimum 3 years' experience as a Heavy Duty Mechanic, ideally in a workshop environment Strong diagnostic and problem-solving skills to quickly identify and resolve issues Strong computer knowledge. Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, wiring diagrams and schematics Excellent attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship Flexible and adaptable approach to handle a diverse range of machinery and tasks Valid HR driver's license and your own reliable transport Candidates must possess valid Australian work rights. Current national Police clearance Authorised Vehicle Examiner certification must be obtained within 6 months of appointment.
