d’Albora, Australia’s largest marina group, is offering an exciting opportunity for a permanent full time Shipyard & Operations Manager based at the renowned Gold Coast City Marina & Shipyard (GCCM). Located in a prime position on Queensland’s spectacular Gold Coast, GCCM is Australia’s most comprehensive and award‑winning shipyard facility. With more than 90 leading marine businesses on site, the precinct delivers unmatched convenience, competitive solutions, and consistently high‑quality workmanship. This is a pivotal leadership role responsible for overseeing all shipyard and hardstand operations, driving operational excellence, managing key business and industry relationships and ensuring the safe and efficient management of facilities. About the Role As the Shipyard & Operations Manager , you will lead the day‑to‑day operations of the shipyard and hardstand areas, ensuring seamless workflow, exceptional service delivery and strong commercial performance. You will oversee staff leadership and training, contractor management, equipment operations and facilities maintenance while maintaining high standards of safety, environmental compliance and customer satisfaction. Your ability to build strong relationships with business partners, onsite tenants and industry stakeholders will be essential in supporting GCCM’s reputation as a premier marine destination. Key Responsibilities Oversee daily shipyard and hardstand operations. Manage contractor engagement, ensuring timely delivery, minimal disruption and compliance requirements. Operate and supervise equipment operations, including travel lifts, forklifts, straddle carriers and other machinery. Coordinate scheduling, quoting, work order and invoicing in collaboration with the administration team. Ensure payment processes are completed prior to vessel launch and maintain accurate operational documentation. Drive revenue growth and cost control, identifying opportunities to improve service offerings and operational efficiency. Oversee facilities management in collaboration with the Facilities Manager. Engage with business partners, onsite tenants and industry stakeholders to strengthen relationships. Ensuring adherence to Work, Health and Safety as well as environmental and operational standards across site. The successful candidate needs to possess the following experience and skills: Demonstrated experience managing boatyard/shipyard operations. Ability to inspire and develop staff. Contractor management experience. Exceptional communication and customer service skills. Good understanding of WHS and environmental compliance. Strong problem‑solving skills. Valid Straddle Lift Carrier Certificate and forklift license and relevant experience (essential). Be able to operate all machinery.
