About the Role We’re looking for industry experienced tradespeople to join our Engineering team as casual teachers across Mechanical and Fabrication trades. These roles play a key part in making sure students learn safely, practically and to current industry standards, while building confidence in modern workshop environments. You won’t be left to figure things out on your own. You’ll be supported by established programs, experienced colleagues and quality workshops, allowing you to focus on delivering quality training and strong student outcomes. Some key responsibilities for this role include, but are not limited to: Deliver practical, hands on engineering training Model strong safety behaviours and reinforce safe work practices in workshops Train and assess students using a mix of practical delivery and structured learning Adjust your approach to suit different learners, experience levels and abilities Support students to build confidence, capability and job readiness Work alongside the teaching team on day to day program activities and improvements Is this an opportunity you are interested in? You bring a safety first mindset, a collaborative approach and a genuine interest in developing the next generation of engineers. Strong, current industry experience in Mechanical or Fabrication Engineering A safety first mindset — HSR or additional safety experience is highly regarded Confidence working with apprentices, students and adult learners A collaborative approach and willingness to support team outcomes Pride in your trade and a genuine interest in developing others Mechanical roles: Mechanical classes run during daytime hours. Relevant trade qualification (e.g. Fitter & Turner, Maintenance Fitter, Toolmaker or similar) Experience with advanced manufacturing, CAD and CNC highly regarded Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (TAE) with teaching experience is preferable Fabrication roles: Fabrication classes are delivered during daytime hours and in the evenings (approximately 5:00–9:00pm), with scope to expand.
