We are seeking a technically skilled Surveying Technician to join their established team in Wangara WA. This is a full-time role providing essential support to Licensed Surveyors on a diverse range of residential and commercial projects. The Role As a Surveying Technician, you will play a critical role in the end-to-end delivery of land development projects. You will be responsible for field-based data collection and office-based processing, ensuring that all spatial information is accurate and compliant with Victorian land standards. Key Responsibilities Perform survey set-out activities and assist in establishing survey control marks and benchmarks for development and infrastructure projects. Process and evaluate raw survey observations, perform coordinate computations and routine data adjustments, and validate survey accuracy using surveying software. Collate and manage geospatial and spatial data to prepare survey plans, contour models, maps, and databases for planning and development purposes. Prepare preliminary sketches, technical drawings, and working plans for subdivision, feature, and development surveys using AutoCAD, Civil 3D, or similar spatial software. Assist Surveyors and Town Planners in interpreting site plans, government regulations, development requirements, and relevant codes of practice. Support project feasibility assessments and development applications through routine surveying computations, plotting, and technical documentation. Calibrate, maintain, and test surveying instruments and associated equipment to ensure operational accuracy and compliance with technical standards. Qualifications, Skills and Experience Education: Diploma or Advanced Diploma in Surveying, Spatial Science, or a closely related discipline, or equivalent industry experience and training. Experience: Minimum of one (3) year of post-qualification experience in a surveying or spatial science role. Technical Skills: Proficiency in AutoCAD, Civil 3D, or equivalent surveying and spatial information software. Industry Knowledge: Understanding of Victorian land development processes, subdivision standards, and relevant planning and surveying regulations. Communication Skills: Well-developed written and verbal English communication skills, including the ability to prepare technical documentation and reports.
