About This Role Your new role: As An Assistant In Nursing (AIN) Within The Intensive Care Unit / High Dependency Unit, You Will Support The Registered Nurse Team To Deliver Safe, Compassionate, Person-centred Care To Critically Ill Patients In a Modern Clinical Environment. You Will Assist Registered Nurses with the delivery of direct and indirect patient care in the ICU/HDU setting. Support the daily operations of the ward, including routine clinical and patient care activities under supervision. Contribute to safe, high-quality care by recognising and escalating patient care concerns to the nursing team. Work collaboratively with multidisciplinary staff to support positive patient outcomes and efficient unit functioning. Unit Profile The combined Intensive Care Unit (ICU) / High Dependency Unit (HDU) is a newly commissioned service which opened in October 2025 and is a Clinical Services Capability Framework (CSCF) level 4 ICU. The ICU/HDU provides specialist clinical care to critically ill adult in-patients at Redlands Hospital and will also support ICU Services in Metro South Health Service area. The Clinical Outreach team will operate out of the ICU on a 24/7 basis and provide specialist clinical care and support for in-hospital resuscitation, patients experiencing clinical deterioration and provide support to staff within the general hospital precinct.
