ABOUT THE ROLE Reporting to the Vice President (Academic), the Director Learning & Teaching will play a critical leadership role in shaping the academic experience across the institute. Leading Academic Services and partnering closely with Heads of School and senior stakeholders, this role will drive teaching quality, curriculum innovation, academic governance and regulatory compliance. You will influence strategic learning initiatives, oversee academic operations and champion continuous improvement across online, hybrid and on-campus delivery models. DUTIES Lead the implementation and monitoring of the Learning & Teaching Plan and associated KPIs Drive academic quality, governance and compliance across all learning and teaching activities Oversee Academic Services operations, including examinations, timetabling, academic integrity and student support processes Partner with Heads of School and Program Leaders to enhance curriculum design and delivery Lead course development, reaccreditation and continuous improvement initiatives Support and contribute to Academic Board, Learning & Teaching Committee and Course Advisory Boards Develop innovative learning strategies, including digital and hybrid delivery approaches Mentor, support and develop academic and professional staff capability Monitor student learning outcomes and implement initiatives to improve engagement and experience Act as deputy to the Vice President (Academic) when required SKILLS & EXPERIENCE Doctorate qualification in a relevant discipline Significant leadership experience within Australian higher education Strong understanding of TEQSA, HESF, AQF and broader higher education compliance frameworks Proven experience leading learning and teaching strategy, quality assurance and curriculum innovation Demonstrated success managing diverse academic teams and stakeholder groups Experience across online, hybrid and contemporary learning environments Strong analytical, reporting and decision-making capabilities Exceptional communication and relationship management skills A collaborative and values-driven leadership style with a passion for student outcomes BENEFITS Executive leadership opportunity with genuine strategic influence Join a respected and growing higher education provider Opportunity to shape future-focused learning and teaching practices Collaborative and culturally diverse working environment Strong organisational commitment to innovation and continuous improvement Potential for the role to convert into a permanent opportunity Career-defining opportunity within academic leadership OUR RECRUITMENT PROCESS At Lotus People, we are committed to fostering diversity, equity and inclusion.
