Barakaat Group Pty Ltd is currently seeking a qualified and experienced Butcher to join the team on a full-time basis, fixed term non-ongoing contract. The role is responsible for preparing, cutting, trimming, deboning, portioning, and displaying meat products, while maintaining product quality, freshness, and presentation standards. The Butcher will also support daily butcher shop operations, follow food safety and hygiene procedures, manage stock rotation, and ensure the overall customer experience reflects the business’s service standards and brand values. Salary Range - 34-38AUD Work Location - 14-15/1932 Logan Rd Upper Mount Gravatt QLD 4122 Skills and Experience Required Strong knowledge of meat anatomy, cutting techniques, portioning, trimming, boning, slicing, and specialty preparation. Ability to produce consistent, high-quality cuts across beef, lamb, pork, and other protein varieties in accordance with customer specifications. Skill in operating butchery equipment including bandsaws, slicers, mincers, grinders, and knives, while adhering to OH&S standards. Maintain accurate stock levels, rotate products, and ensure all meat handled meets quality, safety, and freshness requirements. Ensure compliance with food safety, hygiene requirements, workplace health and safety regulations, and correct storage/handling procedures. Collaborate effectively with the butchery team and production manager to meet daily targets, fulfil orders, and support operational workflow. Ability to assist in producing value-added meat products (e.g., sausages, marinated cuts, smallgoods) where required. Proven experience as a Butcher in a commercial meat-processing, wholesale, or retail environment. Duties and Responsibilities: Operate butchery equipment safely and maintain high standards of hygiene, food safety, and workplace health and safety. Inspect and select meat to ensure quality, freshness, and compliance with company standards. Package, label, and store meat products properly, ensuring correct stock rotation and minimal wastage. Monitor inventory levels and assist in receiving, checking, and organising incoming stock.
