About This Role Your new role: Role As the Leading Cook, you will play a key role in supervising food service operations, supporting staff and ensuring high quality meal services are delivered in a busy healthcare environment by: Supervising operational food service staff to ensure meals are prepared and delivered according to dietary requirements and service standards Coordinating daily kitchen and food service operations to ensure efficiency and productivity Ensuring compliance with food safety, workplace health and safety, and infection control standards Liaising with team leaders, clinical teams and dietetics staff to address feedback and improve services Supporting recruitment, staff training and performance development of food services team members Monitoring meal quality, food waste and service standards to maintain high levels of patient satisfaction Investigating and responding to patient and customer feedback or complaints About You You are an experienced food service professional with strong leadership capability who thrives in a fast-paced environment and is committed to delivering high-quality services by: Demonstrating experience working in a large commercial kitchen or food services environment Leading and supervising teams to achieve operational goals and service standards Applying strong knowledge of food safety regulations and food service best practice Communicating effectively with staff, patients and stakeholders across different teams Using sound organisational and problem-solving skills to manage competing priorities Demonstrating strong computer skills including Microsoft Office and automated menu systems such as CBORD Supporting staff development through training, coaching and performance feedback Check out our quick tips and application essentials!
