General Manager role leading operations, farms, finance & HR, driving growth, performance and strategy across a national agribusiness. Role Overview Our client is currently looking to recruit a General Manager to lead the business through its next phase of growth. This is a business-critical role, reporting to the CEO of the parent company, leading all aspects of the business as well as leading initiatives that will result in the growth plan for the business. This person will develop and lead the business specifically focused on administration, finance/accounting support, HR, customer development, people leadership and support, and leading the strategy for growth. This role is critical to the organisation as it strives to provide optimal service to customers in the most efficient manner whilst growing the bottom line. Key Responsibilities Business & Operational Leadership Lead the business through strong leadership, ensuring priorities are clear, owned, and delivered across departments. Own the operating rhythm (priorities, meetings, reporting) to ensure teams execute against all responsibilities and goals. Partner with the CEO to translate strategy into plans, resourcing, and measurable outcomes. Monitor business performance using practical objectives and dashboards, identifying risks and opportunities early and driving corrective action. Continue to build, lead, and develop a high-performing leadership team, providing clear direction and coaching. Operation Manager and Revenue Growth Manage all Operations across the business including 5 cattle farms and 2 fruit orchards. Ensure all Quality Management is in place, and food safety is critical. Support the CEO with strategic initiatives, helping scope projects, coordinate delivery, and remove roadblocks. Improve core business systems and processes (workflows, documentation, controls) to scale the organisation efficiently. Identify and implement opportunities to capture opportunities that support the potential increase in revenue. Coordinate cross-functional planning to ensure the right people, partners and resources are in place to deliver growth. Administration, Finance and HR Manage all business administration. Develop and implement data capture and improve reporting to help business decisions. Manage the accountant and credit control activities to ensure all financial information is up-to-date and accurate. Develop employment contracts that are aligned and correct. Lead and manage any future recruitment. Put in place clear organisation structures and role accountability, including objectives. Develop and lead training and development across the business. Lead, manage and coach leaders and team members, setting clear expectations and lifting capability. Competencies Required Proven experience in a senior operational / leadership role (GM/COO/Operations Manager), specifically within an agriculture or horticulture environment. Demonstrated ability to lead teams through growth and change, bringing structure, clear priorities, and strong execution discipline. Strong leadership, stakeholder management, and commercial judgement. Excellent communication skills with the ability to simplify complex issues and drive alignment across teams and external partners. Must have experience and be familiar with products that are exported to China. Chinese language skills would be beneficial but not essential.
