About the Role At BDO (NTH QLD), you will be part of a growing, market-leading, locally owned and operated, professional services firm. Applications are now open for a Bookkeeper to join our Accounting Outsourcing team within the Cairns office. We are seeking a proactive and motivated individual who will play a key role in delivering high‑quality bookkeeping and accounting support across a diverse client base, while contributing to strong client relationships and the ongoing success of our Business Services team. What you’ll be doing A career in Accounting Outsourcing will see you working across a varied and engaging portfolio of clients, delivering more than traditional bookkeeping services. You will be involved in activities such as building strong client relationships, maintaining general ledgers, preparing journals and reconciliations, producing reports, preparing BAS and IAS, managing payroll, superannuation and payroll tax obligations, and supporting management reporting and advisory work. You will also have the opportunity to work with leading technology, tools and cloud‑based systems, including MYOB and Xero, while completing relevant certifications to support your ongoing professional development. What you’ll bring Hold or be working towards a Certificate IV in Bookkeeping Demonstrated proficiency in MYOB, and Xero Highly developed written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with clients and colleagues Strong initiative, organisational capability and exceptional time management skills A proven commitment to delivering exceptional client service and building strong, trust-based client relationships Well-developed IT capability, including proficiency in Microsoft Office with the ability to adapt and learn new systems and technologies Demonstrated ability to build and maintain positive working relationships Why BDO?
