This role will work closely with our finance and project teams, you will be responsible for end‑to‑end accounts payable and general bookkeeping, with a strong focus on compliance with construction industry requirements and accurate, timely financial reporting and standards. Accounting Tasks Processing accounts payable, including subcontractor and supplier invoices Matching invoices to purchase orders and contracts and resolving discrepancies Managing payment runs and monitoring creditor balances and due dates Ensuring all payments comply with QBCC and security of payment requirements Essential knowledge of QBCC compliance requirements is required Working knowledge level of QBCC compliance requirements is essential for this role Maintaining accurate project/job cost allocations in Jobpac and Xero Experience with Jobpac software is preferred but not essential Experience with Xero accounting software is required at start Assisting with preparation of month‑end reports and reconciliations Maintaining supplier and subcontractor records, insurances and compliance documentation Assisting with data for cash flow forecasting and reporting as required Data Entry Data entry of all financial information in accordance with management requirements Input of sales records Invoicing General Administration tasks Maintain internal filing, including accounts payable, and other miscellaneous filing E-mail all invoices get approval for payment Attend internal meetings when required Receive, record, open and distribute incoming mail Answer incoming phone calls Carry out purchasing of office equipment from local suppliers Keep stationery supplies tidy and clean dust when required Archive files on a yearly basis Minimum Year 12 or equivalent education level is required Minimum 1-2 years of bookkeeping or accounts payable experience is required Experience Proven experience as a bookkeeper and/or Accounts Payable Clerk in the building and construction industry Knowledge Strong working knowledge of Xero and Jobpac (or similar construction ERP / job costing system) Skills & competencies Good understanding of QBCC requirements and construction‑related legal and compliance obligations around payments (including retention, subcontractor payments, and security of payment) Familiarity with financial reporting requirements in a construction environment (job cost reports, WIP, accruals, etc.) High attention to detail, accuracy and organisation skills Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with project managers, site teams and external stakeholders Ability to work autonomously and manage priorities across multiple projects
