About the opportunity: This is your opportunity to step into a dynamic ecology role with real variety, responsibility and impact. You’ll work across a diverse portfolio of projects, with a balanced mix of field and office work (approximately 50/50). From local surveys through to drive-in field programs and fly-in/fly-out projects, no two weeks look the same. In this role, you will: Work across diverse field programs including FIFO, DIDO, and short local fieldwork, with an aim for a 50/50 field/office balance. Manage small to medium ecological projects from initial scoping and client liaison through to field survey coordination and final delivery. Apply your knowledge of environmental legislation and field ecology to design, coordinate, and deliver multi‑team surveys. Build and maintain strong client relationships through effective communication and technical expertise. Prepare high quality technical reports, impact assessments, survey documentation, and approval related deliverables. You’ll be part of a collaborative, experienced team, with the autonomy to take ownership of your projects while being supported in your ongoing development. This role is well suited to someone who enjoys working across both field and consulting environments, thrives on variety, and is motivated to deliver high-quality environmental outcomes. You’ll bring: Tertiary qualification in Ecology, Environmental Science, Natural Resource Management, or equivalent. 5 years’ postgraduate experience in fauna and/or flora surveys in QLD. Strong understanding of relevant Commonwealth and State environmental legislation. Experience designing and implementing surveys for threatened species and ecological communities. Consulting experience and/or motivation to develop project management capability. Demonstrated experience preparing and managing environmental reports. Willingness to undertake remote and local fieldwork as required.
