About this role We are inviting Expressions of Interest for an Asset Engineer – Corporate Plant and Equipment to join our Plant team at Wellcamp (Toowoomba) . The Asset Engineer leads Spiecapag’s asset management systems and maintenance frameworks across heavy mobile plant, HDD drilling equipment, and pipeline construction assets. Reporting to the Corporate Plant Manager, the role drives a shift from reactive to reliability-focused maintenance through stronger CMMS systems, standardised processes, and asset performance reporting. It improves equipment availability, compliance, operational readiness, and long-term fleet performance. Responsibilities: Lead asset management and maintenance systems across plant, HDD, and pipeline construction assets Drive the shift from reactive to planned, reliability-focused maintenance Lead CMMS implementation, optimisation, and reporting Develop maintenance strategies and planned maintenance programs to improve reliability and utilisation Analyse asset performance and failure trends to reduce downtime and optimise lifecycle costs Establish reliability and condition monitoring programs, including root cause analysis and predictive maintenance Support plant compliance, statutory inspections, certification, and audit readiness Maintain fleet visibility to support mobilisation, readiness, and utilisation Contribute to spare parts, inventory, and replacement planning Collaborate across teams to drive standardisation, continuous improvement, and safety To be considered for this role, you will ideally possess the following: Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline 5–10 years’ experience in heavy plant, HDD, construction, mining, or pipeline environments Experience implementing asset management systems, maintenance frameworks, and reliability programs Strong experience in CMMS, maintenance strategies, PM schedules, and asset reporting Capability in maintenance planning, lifecycle management, compliance, and plant performance optimisation Strong knowledge of heavy plant, HDD, and pipeline equipment, with the ability to interpret OEM manuals Strong analytical, problem-solving, stakeholder management, and communication skills Proficiency in CMMS, Microsoft Office, asset reporting systems, and ideally Power BI Experience managing plant compliance, statutory inspections, engineering governance, and dispersed fleets Proactive and solutions-focused, with strong accountability, leadership, attention to detail, and commitment to safety How to Apply If you are an experienced Asset Engineer – Corporate Plant and Equipment, we would love to hear from you.
