Position Overview We are seeking a qualified and experienced Metal Fabricator to join our growing team. The successful candidate will be responsible for fabricating, assembling, and repairing steel structures, formwork, and precast moulds used in the manufacture of concrete products. This hands-on role involves working from technical drawings and operating a range of metalworking tools and equipment to support production and structural fabrication needs. Key Duties and Responsibilities Read and interpret technical drawings and specifications to plan fabrication work Measure, cut, bend, and assemble structural and mild steel components for precast moulds and formwork Operate a variety of metal fabrication machinery including MIG welders, oxy-cutting tools, grinders, and presses Weld components using appropriate techniques to ensure strength, accuracy, and finish Carry out repairs and modifications to existing steel moulds and equipment Ensure all fabricated components meet quality, dimensional, and tolerance requirements Collaborate with production and engineering teams to meet daily manufacturing needs Maintain a safe, organised workshop and adhere to WHS policies at all times Conduct routine maintenance of fabrication tools and equipment Accurately complete job sheets and maintain fabrication records Skills and Experience Certificate III in Engineering – Fabrication Trade or equivalent qualification Minimum 2 years’ experience in heavy metal fabrication or structural steel fabrication Competency in MIG welding and oxy cutting (TIG and Arc welding desirable) Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and work with minimal supervision Experience in fabrication of precast moulds, formwork systems, and structural steel components Ability to measure, cut, shape, and assemble steel products from technical drawings Reliable, self-motivated, and able to work as part of a team Strong understanding of workplace health and safety practices
