About The Role We have recently created position as Group Manager – Shared Services to be accountable for the end‑to‑end performance, governance, and continual improvement of Whitehaven’s Shared Services functions, including Payroll and Accounts Payable. This role is critical to ensuring strong governance, controls and compliance across high‑volume, transaction‑intensive functions, while also driving performance, efficiency and continual improvement. We are seeking a forward‑thinking Shared Services leader who has successfully run large-scale transactional environments and who can balance operational excellence with future‑focused transformation. A key expectation of this role is to develop and execute a roadmap for AI, automation and system‑enabled efficiencies , ensuring the Shared Services function is scalable, resilient and best‑in‑class. This position reports to the Deputy Chief Financial Officer and partners closely with Finance, Operations, People & Culture and Technology. What You'll Do Provide end‑to‑end leadership of Payroll and Accounts Payable shared services operations Act as a trusted advisor to senior leaders and operational stakeholders, balancing commercial outcomes with risk management Ensure accurate, compliant and timely delivery of payroll and payment outcomes across the Group Establish and maintain strong governance, risk and control frameworks Drive performance, productivity and cost efficiency across Shared Services Lead system enhancements, process standardisation and transformation initiatives Develop a clear AI and automation roadmap to support future operating models Build, lead and mentor a high‑performing Shared Services leadership team What You'll Bring Tertiary qualification in Finance, Accounting, Business or a related discipline Extensive experience (15 years) within Shared Services or large‑scale transactional environments Senior leadership experience across Shared Services, Finance Operations or enterprise‑wide service functions within large, complex, multi-site organisation (mining, resources or heavy industry highly desirable) Strong technical expertise across payroll, accounts payable, procure‑to‑pay and financial control frameworks Proven experience operating within large ERP environments (e.g. SAP, Oracle or Workday) Highly developed stakeholder engagement, influencing and change leadership capability Forward‑looking mindset with a strong interest in AI, automation and future ways of working Why Whitehaven?
