Job Title: Principal, Product Marketing (Australia) The Principal, Product Marketing (Australia) is a senior, hands-on product marketing role responsible for leading the planning and delivery of commercially impactful go-to-market strategies for a portfolio of print and digital courseware for schools in the Australian market. The role is designed for an experienced product marketer who can become operational quickly and deliver at pace. Your career opportunity This is a 12-month fixed term opportunity for a highly experienced Principal, Product Marketing (Australia) who can become operational quickly and make an immediate impact. Reporting into the lead for product marketing in the UK, you will be expected to join weekly calls with central marketing functions in the UK and US. You will work closely with another marketing manager in Australia. You will lead the planning and delivery of commercially impactful go-to-market strategies and campaigns for a portfolio of qualifications and digital resources, with a strong focus on prioritisation, pace, and delivery excellence. This is a senior, hands-on role. You will be confident operating with senior stakeholders across Product, Sales, and Leadership, while remaining deeply involved in day-to-day campaign execution - including briefing, messaging development, and copywriting. The successful candidate will bring advanced market positioning expertise, with a proven ability to differentiate products in commoditised and highly competitive markets, turning insight into clear narrative and commercial advantage. Key responsibilities Rapid go-to-market delivery Quickly build understanding of the portfolio, market context, and priorities to lead effective go-to-market activity within weeks, not months. Own and deliver integrated go-to-market strategies from proposition development through to campaign execution and optimisation. Develop high impact content and thought leadership to establish Pearson and our products at a state and national level. Hands-on campaign management Lead end-to-end delivery of multi-channel campaigns, remaining personally accountable for quality, pace, and impact. Write and shape campaign briefs, messaging frameworks, and high-quality copy across key channels. Manage agencies and internal specialists (global locations) to deliver to tight timelines and clear commercial objectives. Senior stakeholder engagement Work confidently with senior Product, Sales, and Marketing stakeholders, providing clear direction and pragmatic challenge. Partner closely with Sales to support revenue generation through strong propositions and enablement. Collaborate, support and coach one senior marketing manager. Market insight and differentiation Apply deep understanding of customers, competitors, and market dynamics to sharpen positioning and drive cut-through. Translate insight into actionable recommendations that improve campaign effectiveness and market impact. Performance and accountability Report on campaigns using established metrics linked to commercial outcomes and optimise activity based on performance data. Skills and capabilities Extensive product marketing and go-to-market experience Strong market positioning and differentiation capability Confidence working with senior stakeholders Excellent copywriting and written communication skills Ability to become operational quickly and deliver at pace Strong commercial and analytical mindset Experience and qualifications Significant 8 years of experience in senior product marketing or commercial marketing roles. Preferably someone from the Education/Publishing sector but is also open for other industries. Proven track record of driving impact quickly in fast-paced or pressured environments. Experience differentiating products in competitive or commoditized markets. Degree in Marketing, Business, Communications or equivalent experience.
