Set to open in July 2026 on the Geelong Waterfront, Nyaal Banyul Geelong Convention and Event Centre, will be Australia’s newest convention and event centre. Operated by the Victorian Convention and Event Trust (VCET), this premier venue features a 1,000-seat theatre and 3,700 square meters of versatile event space, ready to host everything from community gatherings to major conferences and entertainment events. About the role As part of our first Food and Beverage Team, you’ll have a varied, hands-on role where every day is different. You’ll help with opening events, set up and service, and work across a range of exciting spaces throughout the venue. What You'll Be Doing You will assist with all aspects of floor service — welcoming and seating customers, taking orders, delivering food and beverages, and maintaining a clean dining area, with support from senior staff. Supplying, dispensing or mixing of liquor, including maintenance of the bar and cellar areas and equipment, preparing the bar for service, taking orders and serving drinks; Providing food and beverage service across a variety of settings, including buffets, kiosks, cafés, and formal gala dinners, with the ability to carry up to three plates at a time. Preparing and assembling a variety of food items, including heating pre-prepared meals and creating simple dishes such as quick-serve items, salads, and toasted products. Setting up and dismantling a variety of spaces, including cafés, bars, retail areas, and formal gala dinner configurations, encompassing the arrangement of furniture and tables.
