Our client is seeking a temporary Family Support Liaison Officer for a period of 6 months. Your new company The Family Support Liaison Officer provides compassionate, professional support to individuals and families. Operating within a complex investigative environment, this role acts as a key point of contact between affected families and the investigation process, ensuring information is communicated clearly, sensitively, and in a timely manner. The position requires the ability to navigate emotionally challenging situations while maintaining professionalism, supporting individuals experiencing trauma and grief, and ensuring they are connected to appropriate services. The role also contributes to broader organisational outcomes through stakeholder engagement, reporting, and continuous improvement initiatives. Your new role Act as the primary liaison for affected individuals during investigations Communicate investigation processes, milestones, and outcomes in a clear, accurate, and sensitive manner Provide timely updates on case progression, including investigation and court proceedings, in line with legislative and policy requirements Facilitate appropriate engagement between families and key stakeholders, including investigators and senior officials Offer support to individuals experiencing trauma and grief, including referral to counselling and support services Maintain professional, empathetic communication in emotionally complex and potentially sensitive environments Develop and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including government agencies and external authorities Maintain accurate case records and documentation of all interactions and key milestones Prepare reports, briefing notes, and correspondence relating to cases and critical incidents Contribute to the development and continuous improvement of policies, procedures, and resource materials relating to family support services Represent the organisation in relevant committees, forums, and working groups Manage complaints and enquiries in line with organisational policies and standards Support team culture and actively contribute to a positive and collaborative working environment What you'll need to succeed Demonstrated experience supporting individuals affected by trauma, grief, or crisis in a professional setting Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate sensitively and effectively with individuals in distress Highly developed written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to convey complex or sensitive information clearly Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to assess situations, identify issues, and determine appropriate responses Ability to work independently while maintaining strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders High levels of emotional intelligence, resilience, and self-awareness when working in challenging environments Strong organisational skills, including case management and accurate record keeping What you need to do now If you're interested in this role, click 'apply now' to forward an up-to-date copy of your CV, or call us now.
