About the Role Drive & Crew: Collect a company vehicle from Burswood (Crown Casino) before sunrise, meet passengers, and transport them to Northam (approximately 1 hour 15 minutes drive). Set-Up & Support: Assist pilots and crew with balloon inflation, equipment preparation, passenger management, and general operational support. Track & Pack: Follow the balloon to its landing site, assist with pack-down, and return passengers for breakfast before heading back to Perth. Shift Times: Starts are very early in the morning and vary throughout the season as we “chase the sunrise.” At this time of year, shifts typically begin around 3:30am, while towards the end of the season starts can be as early as 1:15am. Average shift length is around 7–8 hours. The Work Environment: This is a hands-on outdoor role involving physical work, early mornings, and working in varying weather conditions as part of a close-knit crew. No two mornings are the same. Training Provided: Full on-the-job training is provided. About You We’re looking for someone who: Holds an LR licence or higher with a clean driving record. Is comfortable with very early mornings and outdoor work. Can confidently drive larger vehicles, including towing and manoeuvring trailers. Is physically capable of assisting with balloon set-up and pack-down. Has a strong safety focus and works well as part of a team. Enjoys working with people and providing excellent customer service. Is reliable, punctual, and able to follow instructions in a fast-moving environment. Has weekend availability and flexibility during the ballooning season.
