Career Employment Group Inc is seeking applications for a Glazier Apprentice to work with our valued Host Employer in Edwardstown, Adelaide. This is a full time position, with some weekend work available. As an apprentice, you will undertake a Certificate III in Glass and Glazing, learning a variety of glass and glazing techniques as well as essential trade skills, while working in a supportive team environment. Key tasks include: Determining type and dimensions of glass required. Laying glass over patterns on padded tables and in jigs. Measuring and marking glass for cutting. Examining glass and marking defective areas. Cutting along patterns and templates. Breaking off sheets and excess glass with notched tools and glass pliers. Installing glass and mirrors in windows, skylights, display cases, interior walls, and ceilings. Smoothing rough edges using belt sanders and smoothing wheels. May coat, cut, etch, trim and treat glass to achieve special effects. Requirements Drivers licence is preferred but not essential if living local to factory site. Satisfactorily pass a pre-employment medical. Have a willingness to learn and develop new skills in this trade. Be able to use initiative and communicate well to work in a team.
