About the Role Our Perth, Malaga based Projects Workshop is seeking a qualified, hands-on Electrician to join our growing team. This full-time, metro-based role plays a critical part in the delivery, quality assurance and technical execution of electrical and communications projects. You will be responsible for maintaining high workmanship standards, supporting apprentices and tradespeople, and ensuring projects are delivered safely, efficiently and in accordance with design documentation and project schedules. This position is suited to an experienced electrician who is confident working with telecommunications power systems. Building racks, panels, trailers, communication equipment rooms and radio base stations to meet and exceed Australian and client standards. This will include but not be limited to: AC power system DC rectifier systems - 48v DC Distribution panels Battery backed DC bus systems LVD Solar LV Switchboards Automatic transfer switches Manual changeover switches UPS Generator backup systems Structured Cabling (Data) Key Responsibilities Report directly to the Workshop Supervisor on project delivery progress, technical matters, resource requirements and emerging risks Execute electrical and communications projects in accordance with approved drawings, specifications and quality standards Work proactively to meet project schedules and milestone targets within a project-driven workshop environment Ensure all works are completed in line with programmed Factory Acceptance Test (FAT) dates Interpret electrical schematics, control drawings and rack layouts Assemble, wire and integrate AC and DC power systems Install and terminate battery systems (12V, 24V and -48V DC) Assist with instrumentation installation and SCADA-related I/O wiring Conduct testing, commissioning and fault finding of power and control systems prior to FAT Maintain accurate documentation including test results, commissioning records and as-built documentation Provide technical guidance and support to apprentices and workshop tradespeople Ensure compliance with relevant Australian and client standards while ensuring company safety procedures are adhered to. Skills & Experience Essential: Trade-qualified Electrician with a current West Australian Electrical Licence Minimum two (2) years’ post-trade experience Strong understanding of AS/NZS 3000, AS/NZS 4836 and relevant LV standards Proven ability to interpret detailed electrical and control drawings Strong troubleshooting and fault-finding capability Experience building panels or switch rooms, with the ideal candidate to have experience building communication equipment rooms and radio base stations.
