HSE Advisor – 5 Month Contract Location: Wollongong / Sydney Roster: Monday to Friday – Dayshift Duration: 5 Month Contract About the Role An opportunity exists for a motivated HSE Advisor to join a project team delivering construction works across a live project environment in the Wollongong region. This role will suit a safety professional who enjoys being highly visible in the field, building strong relationships with crews, and driving positive safety outcomes on site. The successful candidate will work closely with Supervisors, Project Teams, and subcontractors to ensure compliance with project HSE requirements, while promoting a proactive and practical safety culture. Accommodation can be provided for candidates willing to relocate for the duration of the project. Key Responsibilities Conduct regular site inspections, task observations, and field-based safety interactions Engage directly with crews and subcontractors to promote safe work practices Support daily pre-starts, toolbox talks, and safety meetings Assist with incident investigations, corrective actions, and hazard reporting Monitor compliance with WHS legislation, project procedures, and client requirements Review SWMS, permits, and risk assessments Maintain accurate HSE documentation and reporting Provide practical safety guidance and support to site personnel Participate in audits and continuous improvement initiatives About You 2–3 years’ experience in a HSE Advisor role within construction, civil, utilities, or infrastructure projects Previous experience working with a subcontractor environment is highly regarded Certificate IV in Work Health & Safety (minimum requirement) Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills Comfortable working both autonomously and within a project team Practical and proactive approach to safety in the field Current driver’s licence Must be based in Wollongong or Sydney, or willing to relocate for the contract duration Role Breakdown Approximately 75% field-based safety support and inspections Approximately 25% office/admin and reporting duties What’s on Offer Immediate project exposure on a busy construction environment Supportive project team and strong site presence Monday to Friday roster with no shutdown-style swings Accommodation assistance available for relocation candidates Opportunity to further develop hands-on project HSE experience within a high-performing team If this looks of interest, please apply now!
