About the Role We are seeking a qualified and experienced Engineering Technologist to support the analysis, testing, implementation, monitoring and improvement of engineering technologies within our glass processing and manufacturing operations. The role will focus on reviewing production systems and technical processes, assessing equipment and system performance, identifying operational risks and inefficiencies, and assisting with the implementation of engineering solutions to improve safety, reliability, quality and production efficiency. The successful candidate will apply engineering knowledge, analytical skills and technical problem- solving experience to support manufacturing systems, process optimisation, technical issue investigation and continuous improvement initiatives. What we're looking for A bachelor’s degree or higher qualification in Engineering, Engineering Technology, Electrical Engineering, or a related field. Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in an industrial or manufacturing environment Strong ability to analyse technical systems, production processes and equipment performance. Experience in fault diagnosis, technical reporting, operational improvement or engineering system optimisation. Ability to support the implementation and testing of new or modified engineering technologies. Strong problem-solving, communication and teamwork skills. Ability to work independently and collaboratively with production and operational teams. Key Responsibilities: Analyse, review and improve existing engineering technologies, production systems and plant equipment used in glass processing and manufacturing operations. Support the testing, implementation and modification of engineering systems and technologies to improve production efficiency, quality, safety and reliability. Monitor and assess the performance of manufacturing equipment and technical systems, identify technical risks, equipment faults, process interruptions and operational inefficiencies, and recommend practical engineering solutions. Apply engineering principles to analyse, modify, test and support the implementation of engineering technologies and technical processes to improve the safety, efficiency, reliability and quality of manufacturing operations. Assist with the technical assessment, planning and implementation of equipment upgrades, process improvements and new manufacturing technologies to support Watson Glass’s operational capability and business growth. Work with production, maintenance and management teams to investigate technical issues, analyse root causes, test corrective actions and support long-term engineering improvements. Prepare and maintain technical reports, process documentation, equipment performance data, testing records, risk assessments and operational improvement recommendations. Support quality control, preventative maintenance, compliance activities and the development of technical procedures to ensure safe, reliable and consistent manufacturing outcomes.
