From grassroots participation to elite competition, the QRL is the steward and champion of rugby league in Queensland, driving the growth, integrity and long-term success of the game across communities statewide. An exceptional opportunity now exists for an accomplished and values-driven executive to lead the organisation as Chief Executive Officer. Reporting to the Board, the CEO is responsible for delivering the organisation’s strategic direction, organisational performance and culture, while ensuring strong governance, financial sustainability and stakeholder confidence across all aspects of the game. The role provides enterprise leadership across participation, pathways, competitions, commercial operations and organisational capability in a highly visible and influential environment. As the public-facing leader of the QRL, the CEO will build trusted relationships across government, partners, clubs, communities, media and national sporting stakeholders, while positioning the organisation to respond effectively to opportunities, risks and evolving expectations within the sporting landscape. This role will suit an experienced executive leader with a demonstrated track record leading complex, member, community, commercial or public-facing organisations. You will bring highly developed stakeholder engagement and influencing capability, strong commercial and financial acumen, and the judgement to lead through complexity, scrutiny and change. Experience operating within federated or member-based environments, together with an understanding of the community-to-elite sporting landscape, will be highly regarded.
