We are recruiting on behalf of a valued manufacturing client for an experienced Upholstery Craftsman to join their Production Team in Bathurst. This full-time position is ideal for a mid-level professional with strong upholstery expertise, hands-on craftsmanship and a commitment to producing high-quality finished products. You will play a critical role in the assembly, repair and finishing of upholstered items within a fast-paced production environment. Responsibilities Interpret job specifications and production instructions to deliver high-quality upholstered products Strip, prepare and rebuild furniture frames ensuring structural integrity Perform precise cutting of foam, fabric, leather and vinyl materials Apply straining and tensioning techniques for optimal finish and durability Carry out foam gluing, stapling, sewing and final assembly processes Operate a range of machinery and tools, including: Industrial sewing machines Foam cutting equipment Adhesive spray equipment Panel saws and drop saws Air compressors, staple guns and nail guns Perform pattern matching and material layout for accuracy and minimal waste Ensure correct use of upholstery components including zips, piping, gimp, threads and fastenings Maintain strict adherence to quality control standards and production timelines Conduct basic maintenance and safe operation of tools and machinery Keep work areas clean, organised and compliant with safety standards Collaborate effectively within the Production Team Your Profile Essential Skills & Experience: Proven experience in upholstery, furniture manufacturing, or a similar trade Strong understanding of furniture construction, materials and finishing techniques Experience working with fabrics, leather and vinyl Proficiency in using industrial sewing machines and upholstery tools Knowledge of foam cutting, gluing and assembly processes Ability to read and interpret job specifications and technical instructions High attention to detail and commitment to craftsmanship Strong teamwork and communication skills If you are a skilled Upholstery Craftsman who takes pride in delivering high-quality workmanship and enjoys working across diverse materials and products, we encourage you to apply.
