Overview : Our family run farm business operates across properties in the Shire of Northampton, Western Australia. We manage 5000 sheep and cultivate 5000ha of mixed cereal and oilseed crops. We are looking for a Sheep Farm Worker to join the team! In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring the health and welfare of the flock through feeding, monitoring, and managing livestock. This position is a full-time ongoing position, working 38 hours per week based at Rumble Springs in the Shire of Northampton, WA (50km from the town of Northampton, WA). Accommodation is available on the property. Main tasks : -Maintaining the health and welfare of sheep by providing sheep with feed and water. -Checking and moving sheep to new paddocks or bringing them to yards for drenching shearing and loading sheep onto trucks. -Undertaking animal husbandry duties for sheep such as drenching, mulesing, shearing etc. -Installing and maintaining water supply systems. -Clearing fence lines, erecting and repairing fence. -Maintaining other farm infrastructure. -Operating and maintaining general farm machinery. -Working with contract shearing teams, contract mulesing teams and other staff to achieve the above tasks. -Communicate and work with farm owner/managers to achieve the above tasks. Required/Relevant Qualifications & Work Experience : -Minimum of a relevant Certificate II or III qualification -At least 1 year of relevant industry experience -Class ‘C’ driver’s licence Required/Relevant Skills & Knowledge : -Excellent attention to detail to ensure the health and welfare of sheep by closely monitoring their behaviour and identifying signs of illness or stress. -Ability to handle varying tasks and work in different environments or weather conditions. -Skill in addressing unexpected challenges, such as livestock issues or equipment malfunctions, efficiently and effectively. -Strong collaboration with other farm workers and supervisors to maintain smooth farm operations. -Effective time management to prioritise tasks and meet deadlines during busy periods, such as lambing or shearing seasons. Annual salary will be between $80,000.00 to $90,000.00 (plus superannuation) depending on level of experience. Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
