Overview : Founded by the renowned Dr. Rick Fenny, Pets and Vets has been a cornerstone of Western Australian animal care for over four decades. From our humble beginnings in the Pilbara to our current network of 14 clinics across WA, we are dedicated to compassionate care and clinical excellence. We are looking for a Veterinarian to join the team! In this role, you will provide expert medical and surgical care while helping to lead the business forward. You’ll be responsible for maintaining the health of our patients, the development of our team, and the overall success of the clinic through a dedicated and compassionate approach to veterinary medicine. This is a full-time ongoing position, working 38 hours per week based in Kalgoorlie, WA. Main tasks : -Conducting consultations, examining animals, performing diagnostic tests/audits, and diagnosing medical conditions. -Developing and executing treatment plans, performing surgeries, and placing catheters or taking blood samples. -Maintaining accurate patient histories, organising prescriptions, and preparing documentation for specialist referrals or emergency centres. -Monitoring post-surgery recovery and ensuring a high standard of quality care for all patients. -Discussing treatment plans with owners, delivering lab results, and ensuring clients leave with the correct medication, info sheets, and post-surgery instructions (e.g. recovery cones). -Conducting post-surgery check-up calls to ensure continued recovery. -Overseeing Vet Students, completing their competency reports, and delivering training to all clinic staff. -Managing patient records and insurance claim forms. Required/Relevant Qualifications & Work Experience : -Minimum of a bachelor’s degree and 3 years’ relevant work experience. -Must have a veterinary degree that is recognised in Australia Required/Relevant Skills & Knowledge : -Excellent customer service and communication skills (Written & Verbal). -Ability to work in team environment. -Lead a team. -High attention to detail. -Ability to work unsupervised. -Patience and empathy. -Multi-task when under pressure. -Ability to be organised and prioritise conflicting tasks.
