Working within the Child and Youth Mental Health Service, you will join a connected, multidisciplinary team committed to innovation and delivering life-changing care. In this role, you will provide assessment and treatment to young people with forensic mental health concerns, including co-occurring mental health and other drug disorders. About us: The Cairns and Hinterland Mental Health and Alcohol and Other Drugs Service delivers comprehensive mental health, alcohol and other drug services across the Cairns and Hinterland Hospital and Health Service, while also supporting services in Torres and Cape. Our focus is on providing accessible, high-quality care across the continuum, including clinical treatment, rehabilitation, early intervention, disability support, and prevention. Cairns and Hinterland Hospital and Health Service provide an extensive range of health services at more than 30 regional, rural and remote facilities across a geographical area of 142,900 square kilometres. The Health Service is 95 percent self-sufficient with only a small number of high-level acute services being provided in Townsville and Brisbane. About your opportunity: Apply increasingly independent clinical judgement to more complex clinical decision making under the clinical practice supervision or professional guidance of a more senior clinician. Develop clinical practice knowledge and expertise through active learning within the team and by engaging in professional development activities. Provide effective and efficient clinical care and work in collaboration with Clinical Lead/Consultant Psychiatrist and Cluster Operational Manager, to ensure safe standards of care. Effectively communicate at all levels across the organisation to promote team functioning. Undertake quality improvement and evidence-based interventions to ensure the provision of quality, cost-efficient care.
