Power Station Operator (Electrical) position available for immediate start FIFO 2/2 | 12-Month Fixed Term (Extension Possible) Great Energy – Australia & Asia-Pacific Great Energy is seeking expressions of interest from an experienced Power Station Operator (Electrical) to join our growing operations team. This is a full-time FIFO role on a 2/2 roster , supporting critical power infrastructure across the resources and utilities sectors. The Role Reporting to the Power Station Supervisor, you will be responsible for the safe, reliable, and efficient operation of power station assets, ensuring uninterrupted supply to critical plant and services. Key duties include: Operating power generation plant to maintain reliable electrical supply Optimising thermal efficiency while minimising supply risk Completing daily operational readings, reporting, and data analysis Routine maintenance and minor repairs on power station plant Fault finding and troubleshooting electrical and instrumentation systems Compliance with KPI targets, safety systems, permits, and procedures Identifying and implementing safety and reliability improvements Skills & Experience 5 years’ experience in power station operations & maintenance highly desirable but not essential Strong electrical system fault-finding skills Experience with power generation systems and equipment Ability to work FIFO in remote locations Experience with SAP maintenance systems highly desirable Strong safety focus, including PTW systems, JSAs, Take 5s Gas and steam turbine experience highly desirable Qualifications Essential: QLD Electrical Fitter / Electrical Mechanic Licence Unrestricted C Class Driver’s Licence Desirable (training supported if required): High Risk Work Licence (LF, WP) BA – Advanced Boiler Operation TO – Turbine Operation Certificate III in Instrumentation & Control EEHA High Voltage Switching What We Offer 2/2 FIFO roster Paid commercial flights to Townsville (if required out of Cairns and Brisbane) Specialist turbine training in Victoria Governor training provided Support to obtain required High Risk licences Opportunity to complete Cert III in Instrumentation & Control Stable business with long-term career opportunities
