What is the role? Reporting to the CEO, you will lead ACNA’s People and Capability functions at a critical stage of organisational growth and transformation. You will be well supported to: Lead our people strategy aligned to ACNAs growth and mission Bring clear, evidence-based workforce insights to Executive and Board- level decision making Strengthen organisational culture, capability and leadership at scale Design and deliver initiatives that attract, develop and retain high- performing, purpose-driven teams Partner with leaders and teams across all ACNA to navigate complexity, change and system reform. This is a strategic and hands-on executive role, where your influence will be felt from Board discussions through to frontline team experience. What will a typical week look like? As our next Executive Director, People and Capability you will move between strategy, leadership and operations. You can expect your week to include: Working alongside your peers, to set organisational direction through workforce insights and strategic priorities Coaching and partnering with senior leaders on people, culture and capability initiatives, challenges and interesting projects. Leading major initiatives across leadership, capability, performance and workforce design. Influencing system and program design, to ensure people impacts are considered from the outset. Representing people and culture perspectives in Executive and Board forums. No two weeks will look the same, but each will contribute to building a strong and more capable organisation. Who are we looking for? You are an experienced executive leader who brings both strategic depth and human insight. We’re looking for a leader who: Has previous experience in leading People and Capability functions in a multi-site organisation Navigates change with confidence, clarity and pragmatism Builds trust quickly and leads with both authenticity and accountability Thinks strategically, but communicates simply and compellingly Is comfortable operating at Board level while staying connected to workforce realities Brings curiosity, sound judgement and a willingness to challenge the status quo Holds postgraduate qualifications in HR, business, psychology or similar, and maintains strong professional networks Why Join us? What else you need to know about the role and the recruitment process This is a national role with flexible working arrangements available. ACNAs office locations are in Perth, Sydney and Canberra. There is an expectation that our Executive Leaders routinely travel to visit ACNA office sites and travel inter-state to meet with operational teams as required. Our recruitment process is a little different to most. We use a range of interactive activities to give you an opportunity to learn and engage in how we work here at ACNA. We start to get to know you through your application, then we move into group video discussions (GVDs) and finally, a recruitment centre so you can show us what you are made of.
