As the Client Director & Team Lead, you will take ownership of a significant client portfolio while leading strategic initiatives, driving commercial growth, and mentoring a developing, high-performing team. Key Responsibilities Lead the strategic management and growth of a high-value commercial client portfolio. Develop and execute risk placement strategies, including underwriting submissions, policy negotiations, and endorsements. Provide thorough risk analysis and tailored insurance solutions aligned with client needs. Build and maintain strong relationships with key clients, insurers, underwriters, and industry stakeholders. Manage, mentor, coach, and support your direct team members to foster a high-performance culture and continue their individual progression. Communicate internally on complex claims matters to assist the claims team in advocating for favourable client outcomes. Drive business development initiatives and identify new market opportunities. Contribute to strategic planning, budgeting, and portfolio profitability. Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, company policies, and industry standards. Collaborate across teams to enhance operational efficiency and service delivery. About You Proven experience in a commercial insurance broking, running your own large portfolio, Prior experience of having direct reports is desirable, not essential. Strong leadership qualities and people skills, with the ability to mentor and influence teams. Extensive experience managing large or complex client portfolios. Excellent negotiation, stakeholder management, and relationship-building skills. Commercially minded with strong financial and strategic acumen. Ability to work effectively in fast-paced, high-pressure environments. Exceptional communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills. Tier 1 Insurance Broking qualification is essential.
