About the Team The Learning & Curriculum Unit (LCU) is responsible for enhancing teaching, curriculum, and assessment in alignment with quality standards and strategic direction. The Education Portfolio leads the provision of a distinctive UTS education for staff and students, contributing to student success through quality teaching and engaging and innovative curricula. About the Role The Specialist, Curriculum Design will play a key role in supporting the Curriculum Transformation workstream at UTS. This position is responsible for facilitating collaborative curriculum design processes with faculty course teams, ensuring alignment with institutional priorities and contemporary higher education practices. The role requires expertise in curriculum theory and design, and the ability to prepare high-quality guidance materials for academic teams. If successful in applying for this role, you will be responsible for: Facilitating Curriculum Transformation workshops to support course teams with curriculum mapping, alignment of learning outcomes, and secure assessment practices. Identifying and implementing curriculum enhancements, redesigning courses for future-focused and digital delivery while maintaining quality and integrity. Managing project timelines, deliverables, and documentation to ensure successful delivery of curriculum transformation outcomes. Building and maintaining strong stakeholder relationships to drive collaboration, engagement, and buy-in across course teams. Monitoring progress, share insights, and report on transformation activities to support continuous improvement and informed decision-making. With examples, please outline within your Cover Letter, how you meet the following key selection criteria: Strong facilitation and stakeholder engagement skills, with demonstrated experience leading collaborative curriculum design workshops and engaging diverse academic teams to achieve shared outcomes. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to translate complex concepts into clear, practical guidance. Demonstrated ability to work independently in complex and evolving contexts, exercising sound judgment, whilst contributing positively to a collaborative team environment, with a proactive, adaptable and solutions-focused approach to delivering practical outcomes. Demonstrated experience in curriculum design and development within a higher education setting, including whole-of-course design or alignment work, and the ability to think systemically about curriculum and respond to emerging challenges (e.g. generative AI, changing assessment practices, or sector reform), translating these into practical design approaches. Demonstrated ability to leverage university-supported digital and generative AI tools ethically and responsibly to enhance workflow efficiency and support informed curriculum design decisions, including capturing and synthesising discussions, maintaining structured records, and supporting the development of consistent curriculum artefacts. Remuneration & Benefits Base Salary Range: $109,014 - $120,596 pa (HEW 7) This role attracts 17% superannuation (pension) in addition to the base salary.
