About the Position The Cook plays a vital role in the heart of our operations at Lovely Sweets, specialising in the preparation and cooking of a wide range of authentic Indian sweets (mithai) and related items to maintain the highest standards of freshness, taste, and presentation. This full-time position ensures the consistent delivery of traditional flavours that our customers love, supporting the business’s reputation for quality in a fast-paced sweet shop environment. Key Responsibilities Examine and prepare high-quality ingredients for Indian sweets, ensuring freshness and adherence to traditional recipes. Prepare and cook a variety of Indian mithai including barfi, gulab jamun, rasgulla, kaju katli, and other sweets using appropriate techniques such as boiling, frying, simmering, and setting. Regulate temperatures of cooking equipment, ovens, and utensils to achieve perfect textures and flavours. Season and flavour sweets during preparation, including syrups, garnishes, and traditional spices. Portion, plate, and package sweets with attention to presentation and hygiene standards. Store ingredients and finished products in temperature-controlled facilities to maintain quality and safety. Maintain a clean and organised kitchen workspace, complying with food safety and health regulations. Collaborate with the team to meet daily production needs for shop sales and customer orders. Requirements Australian citizens and permanent residents are encouraged to apply.
