We are currently looking to appoint a permanent, full-time CNC Cell Operator/Setter to join our manufacturing team at Athol Park. This hands-on role will suit an experienced CNC operator who enjoys working with precision machinery, producing quality components, and contributing to a safe and efficient workshop environment. Your Role : As the CNC Cell Operator/Setter, you will be responsible for operating CNC machinery to produce precision machined components in line with quality and production requirements. This is an exciting opportunity to join a newly established CNC cell, offering the ability to contribute to the development of new processes, implement improvements, and help shape the future operation of the cell. You will review work orders and drawings, set tooling and fixtures, machine first-off parts, check measurements, make program adjustments where required, and complete production runs in line with quality and schedule requirements. The role will also play an important part in maintaining safe work practices, supporting preventative maintenance activities, and identifying opportunities for continuous improvement. Key Responsibilities: Operate CNC machinery to produce quality machined components. Set tooling and fixtures in line with production requirements. Read and interpret work orders, production drawings, and specifications. Machine first-off parts, check measurements, and make required adjustments. Complete production runs in line with work requirements and schedules. Identify and report drawing errors, out-of-tolerance parts, and production issues. Download, back up, and maintain CNC programs as required. Support the development and implementation of improved machining processes and workflows within the new CNC cell. Maintain equipment and work areas in a clean, organised, and safe condition. Perform basic preventative maintenance on equipment. Report consumable shortages, maintenance issues, and equipment breakdowns. Support quality standards by identifying issues and assisting with corrective and preventative actions. Operate machinery safely and follow standard operating procedures. To be successful in this role, you will bring: CNC machining experience, including CNC lathe and milling machine operation. Experience working with larger diameter turning, ideally within the hydraulics industry, highly desirable. Ability to read technical drawings and use precision measuring equipment. Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship. Ability to work both independently and as part of a team. Good communication and problem-solving skills. Forklift licence.
