GRC Specialist - Cyber Security Location: Sydney - Melbourne Employment Type: Full-time Security Clearance: NV1 required (or ability to obtain) About the Role Cleared Recruitment is partnering with a leading global technology organisation supporting Defence and government customers to identify an experienced GRC Specialist . This position sits within a highly scalable, security-focused environment delivering critical cloud and enterprise capabilities. You will play a key role in supporting governance, risk, and compliance (GRC) activities, ensuring systems meet Australian Government security requirements while enabling secure and innovative technology outcomes. This is an excellent opportunity to work in a high-performing, collaborative security team , contributing to the design, assurance, and continuous improvement of security controls across complex environments. Key Responsibilities Act as a GRC SME supporting assurance, certification, and authorisation activities across designated systems Support ATO processes and ensure compliance with relevant standards and security protocols Collaborate with internal teams and stakeholders to define security requirements, objectives, and control baselines Implement and align systems to frameworks including ISM, PSPF, DSPF, Essential Eight, and NIST Contribute to security governance initiatives , improving efficiency and effectiveness across the organisation Participate in cross-functional working groups and support delivery of security uplift programs Develop documentation and contribute to security policies, procedures, and thought leadership Provide guidance, training, and mentorship to internal teams on security and compliance requirements Ensure strong attention to detail and ability to deliver outcomes within tight timeframes Skills & Experience 7 years' experience in cyber security, GRC, assurance, or risk management Strong experience working with Australian Government security frameworks (ISM, PSPF, DSPF, Essential Eight) Experience supporting ATO, accreditation, or assurance processes Background in regulated environments (e.g. Defence, government, or critical infrastructure) Experience working with cloud or enterprise technology environments Strong stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to communicate across technical and business audiences Proven ability to work across multiple teams and influence outcomes Desirable Degree in Cyber Security, IT, Engineering, or related discipline Experience working with NIST or international security standards Exposure to large-scale, distributed technology environments Experience mentoring or guiding junior team members Security Requirements Must be an Australian Citizen Must hold or be eligible to obtain an NV1 Security Clearance What's on Offer Work within a globally recognised, high-scale technology environment Exposure to cutting-edge cloud and security technologies Strong focus on career development, mentorship, and progression Collaborative and inclusive team culture Flexible and supportive working environment promoting work-life balance Diversity & Inclusion Cleared Recruitment and our client are committed to building inclusive and diverse teams.
