Builtrite Scaffolding is looking for a seasoned, driven and hands-on People & Culture Manager to take full ownership of our end-to-end HR function and build the strong foundations the business needs to scale. This is not a maintenance role. It’s a build, shape, and lead role — perfect for a people leader who thrives on creating structure, driving performance, and rolling up their sleeves to make it happen. The Opportunity Reporting directly to the Managing Director, you will be the go-to HR leader across the business — responsible for everything from day-to-day operations to long-term workforce strategy. You’ll: Own the full employee lifecycle – from hiring to offboarding Build HR systems, frameworks, and processes from the ground up Lay the foundations for a scalable, compliant, high-performing workforce Partner closely with leadership to drive productivity, engagement and profitability Balance hands-on operational delivery with forward-thinking strategic planning What You’ll Be Doing This role is broad, impactful, and highly visible. You will: Build & Lead the HR Function Develop and implement a robust HR framework, policies, contracts and systems Ensure full compliance across Fair Work, Safe Work and industry requirements Establish processes that make the business HR-ready to scale Drive Performance & Culture Lead performance management, coaching, and leadership capability Build a high-performance, accountable and positive culture Manage employee relations, grievances, and complex conversations Own Workforce & Commercial Outcomes Deliver labour cost analysis, workforce planning and reporting Provide insights that directly influence project profitability and resourcing decisions Lead attraction, recruitment and retention strategies for a growing workforce Stay Hands-On Oversee weekly payroll and employee administration Manage training, compliance, inductions and workforce readiness Support day-to-day operational needs while keeping an eye on the future About You You’re not just experienced — you’re motivated, practical, and hungry to build something meaningful. You bring: 5 years in a true generalist HR role , with strong understanding of Construction and safety culture A deep understanding of industrial relations, compliance, and payroll Proven ability to build HR capability, not just maintain it A hands-on mindset — you’re just as comfortable in the detail as you are in strategy Strong commercial acumen and the ability to link people decisions to business outcomes Proven conflict resolution skills with the confidence to have clear, direct and sometimes tough conversations A proven ability to build trust quickly with leadership and across a large workforce Highly organised and proactive , with the ability to lead others to operate the same way A practical problem solver , with high levels of drive, ownership, resilience, self-awareness Most importantly, you’re someone who: Wants to own the function end-to-end Is excited to build from scratch, not inherit Takes pride in creating long-term, scalable HR capability Is looking for a business with a strong trajectory of growth Interested?
