Refuge Support Worker (Casual) Day & Night Shifts Available East Melbourne | 3 Positions Available About Us Elizabeth Morgan House Aboriginal Women’s Services (EMHAWS) is a proud Aboriginal Community Controlled Organisation supporting Aboriginal women and children experiencing family violence since 1976. We provide culturally safe, trauma-informed support through crisis accommodation, case management, advocacy and counselling. About the Role We are seeking 3 compassionate and dedicated female Refuge Support Workers to join our team on a casual basis, with both day and night shifts available. You will play a vital role in supporting women and children in a high-security refuge, providing crisis support, advocacy, and practical assistance to help them feel safe and empowered. Key Responsibilities Provide support, intake and advocacy to women and children Assist with safety planning and case support Maintain a safe, respectful and welcoming environment Complete case notes, handovers and documentation Support daily living, parenting and wellbeing needs About You Experience in family violence, community services or similar Strong understanding of trauma-informed and culturally safe practice Ability to work independently in a 24/7 roster environment Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Requirements Relevant qualification or equivalent experience Current WWCC, Police Check & Driver’s Licence Ability to meet Mandatory Minimum Qualifications (MMQ) requirements Important Information This is a special measure role under Section 28 of the Equal Opportunity Act 2010: Open to female applicants only Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander candidates are strongly encouraged to apply Why Join Us?
