Manager Planning and Analysis 12 months Maximum-Term, Full-Time $172,353 plus 15% superannuation Location - Canberra city Great opportunity to drive strong commercial outcomes across our Retail business ActewAGL Retails’ Commercial Services Group is seeking a Manager Planning and Analysis to play a pivotal role in driving strong commercial outcomes across our Retail business. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced commercial or finance professional who enjoys working at the intersection of strategy, analysis, and leadership in a complex and evolving industry. About the role Reporting to the Group Manager Commercial Services Retail, the Manager Planning and Analysis leads commercial and financial analysis across shared services within ActewAGL Retail. You will interpret Retail’s strategic direction, assess business initiatives, and provide high quality insights to support executive decision making. You’ll oversee budgeting and forecasting cycles, lead procurement and contract management activities, and guide the Planning & Analysis team to deliver robust commercial advice that helps shape Retail’s priorities and investments. In this role, you will: Identify and assess strategic opportunities for financial and commercial viability Lead the preparation and review of business cases, including new product initiatives Evaluate existing and proposed projects through detailed financial analysis Deliver budgeting, full year forecasts and five year forecasts aligned to corporate timetables Develop KPIs, management reporting, and performance insights for senior leaders Support Board and executive reporting, including Board papers and Strategy Day material Lead Retail procurement planning, contract management and commercial reviews Undertake market and strategic research to inform executive and senior management decisions Identify productivity and efficiency improvements while maintaining service quality Lead, coach and develop the Planning & Analysis team, role modelling ActewAGL’s values What you’ll bring To succeed in this role, you will have: Strong commercial experience within a large or complex organisation Tertiary qualifications in accounting or a business related discipline Membership of, or progress toward, a professional qualification (CPA or CA ANZ) Demonstrated experience evaluating projects and initiatives for financial and commercial soundness Experience developing and reviewing service level agreements, policies and procedures Well developed stakeholder engagement and communication skills Experience with advanced Excel and financial systems (such as Oracle or TM1) will be highly regarded but not essential.
