We are currently partnered with an incredibly well-known Australian youth-led fashion retailer on the search for a Senior Womenswear Designer to join their growing Brisbane team. Working closely alongside senior leadership, buyers and product, this role will see you immersed within the heart of a large and fast-moving womenswear function, designing across key apparel categories and helping shape commercially exciting product for a highly engaged customer base. This is such an exciting opportunity for a designer who loves the pace of Australian fashion retail and enjoys balancing trend, creativity and commerciality. What you’ll be doing: Designing across multiple womenswear apparel categories including tops, dresses, casualwear and broader fashion apparel Identifying and interpreting trends relevant to the customer base and translating them into commercially successful product Working closely with buyers and product teams across range direction and development Creating moodboards, colour palettes and seasonal concepts Leading fit sessions and supporting product development from concept through to production Working closely with suppliers and offshore factories across development, fabrics and trims Creating detailed tech packs and managing design handovers Collaborating cross-functionally across buying, product and leadership teams Contributing to a fast-paced, high-energy and highly collaborative fashion environment What you’ll bring: Previous womenswear apparel design experience within a fast-paced fashion retail environment Strong commercial handwriting and understanding of the Australian youth fashion customer Experience across multiple apparel categories rather than a highly niche specialism Confidence partnering with buyers, product teams and senior stakeholders Strong trend forecasting, product development and technical capability Ability to balance creativity with commercial outcomes Passion for fashion, product and the pace of retail Previous experience within a fast-paced Australian fashion retail environment highly regarded What’s on offer Opportunity to join a leading Australian youth fashion retailer Highly collaborative and creatively driven environment Direct exposure to senior leadership and key decision makers Genuine opportunity to influence product direction Fast-paced and energetic team culture
