Simplified Breakdown – Fleet / Fulfilment Manager Role Main Purpose of the Role You’re basically the person making sure deliveries and warehouse operations run smoothly every day — even when things go wrong. What You’d Actually Be Doing 1. Managing Rescheduling & Problem Solving You’ll: Rebook deliveries if customers change dates Find backup drivers or trucks Use third-party transport if needed Shift workloads between depots Minimise customer impact when issues happen You’re basically: The emergency decision-maker for freight operations. 3. Overseeing Warehouse Receiving You manage the process of stock arriving into the warehouse. You’d ensure: Deliveries from suppliers are correct Damaged or missing stock is reported Inventory records stay accurate Goods are checked properly before moving further Because: If stock is wrong at the start, the whole day becomes a mess later. 4. Managing Kitting / Order Preparation “Kitting” = preparing all parts/items for customer orders. You’d: Oversee teams preparing shed orders Ensure kits are complete and accurate Reduce missing parts or defects Make sure products are packed properly Basically: Making sure customers receive the right products in good condition. 5. Compliance & Safety (Huge Part of Role) You’re responsible for: Driver fatigue rules Heavy vehicle compliance Vehicle safety standards Chain of Responsibility laws Audit documentation Safety procedures This is serious legal responsibility.
