For more information on working with us please visit https://www.humanrights.vic.gov.au/ About the Role The Senior Adviser, Governance and Reporting provide secretariat function for the Commission's Board and committees, manages a suite of integrity and compliance related frameworks, policies, procedures, and registers and supports staff across the Commission to ensure good governance and integrity is maintained. The role also contributes to the ongoing management of the Commission's risk management framework and supports the internal audit function. The role ensures compliance with legislative regulatory requirements The role is an opportunity to: Lead the Secretariat function for the Commission's Board and Committees. Develop, implement, and maintain corporate governance, integrity, and compliance frameworks, policies, procedures, and registers relating to Board governance, staff conduct, delegations, conflicts of interest, and organisational operations Prepare high-level written communications, governance reports, ministerial and executive briefings, submissions, and correspondence Participate in cross-Commission, interdepartmental, and Victorian Government working groups, committees, and networks as required. The role also contributes to the ongoing management of the Commission's risk management framework and supports the internal audit function. About you To be successful in this role, you will have: Demonstrated experience providing high-level Board and Committee secretariat services, with strong knowledge of corporate governance principles, processes, and practices to support effective governance outcomes and decision-making. Demonstrated experience working within a governance, legal, risk, compliance, or regulatory environment at a senior level within government or the ability to rapidly acquire and apply this knowledge in a complex public sector setting. Highly developed written communication skills, including demonstrated ability to draft, proofread, edit, and quality assure complex documents, reports, Board papers, correspondence, and governance materials across a broad range of subject matters with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail. Excellent organisational and time management skills, with demonstrated ability to prioritise competing demands, manage multiple projects simultaneously, exercise sound judgement, and consistently meet deadlines in a fast-paced and dynamic environment. * Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office suite and corporate systems, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Adobe Acrobat, SharePoint, and electronic records management systems. Qualifications A relevant tertiary qualification and/or experience in (Law, Governance, Risk, Policy) is mandatory. Additional qualifications in corporate governance or board support preferred.
