Project Manager - Structural, Mechanical & Piping (SMP) - Expression of Interest Southeast Melbourne, VIC / NSW Site Competitive Salary Site Uplift Career Growth Major Energy & Infrastructure Projects An exciting opportunity exists for an experienced SMP Project Manager to join a growing Energy & Infrastructure team delivering large-scale capital projects. This role will suit a driven and technically capable Project Manager with strong experience across Structural, Mechanical & Piping scopes within industrial, infrastructure, oil & gas, mining, or energy environments. You will play a key leadership role managing multidisciplinary project delivery from planning through to commissioning and handover, ensuring projects are delivered safely, on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. About the Role Reporting to the General Manager, you will be responsible for the end-to-end management of SMP project scopes including engineering coordination, construction execution, contractor management, commercial oversight, and stakeholder engagement. This role combines office-based work in Southeast Melbourne with site-based responsibilities on major NSW infrastructure projects. Key Responsibilities Lead delivery of SMP project scopes from concept through commissioning and handover Manage project schedules, budgets, forecasting, and resource planning Coordinate engineering, procurement, construction, and contractor activities Ensure compliance with technical specifications, codes, standards, and client requirements Drive strong safety performance and HSE compliance across all activities Manage commercial aspects including variations, claims, forecasting, and cost control Oversee construction sequencing, installation quality, and productivity Lead stakeholder meetings, reporting, and contractor performance reviews Identify project risks and implement mitigation strategies Ensure quality assurance processes and inspection requirements are achieved About You To be successful in this role, you will demonstrate: 8-12 years' project management experience within energy, infrastructure, mining, industrial, or oil & gas sectors Proven experience managing SMP scopes on major projects Strong understanding of structural, mechanical, and piping systems Excellent leadership and stakeholder management capability Strong commercial and contractual awareness Ability to manage multidisciplinary teams in complex project environments Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Civil/Structural Engineering, or related discipline preferred PMP, PRINCE2, or similar project management certification advantageous Software & Systems Experience with the following is highly regarded: Primavera P6 MS Project AutoCAD Navisworks Microsoft Office Suite What's on Offer Opportunity to work on landmark energy and infrastructure projects Long-term career development and progression Dynamic and collaborative team environment Competitive remuneration package Combination of office and site-based work If you are an experienced SMP Project Manager looking to take the next step in your career on major infrastructure projects, we would like to hear from you.
