We are seeking a skilled Financial Controller to oversee accounting and financial operations within the retail industry. This long-term contract role requires a strong focus on financial management and compliance to support business objectives effectively. Description The Financial Controller will be responsible for, but not limited to: Manage financial reporting processes, including preparing accurate reports and forecasts. Oversee budgeting and cost management to ensure alignment with company goals. Ensure compliance with financial regulations and standards. Monitor cash flow and implement strategies to improve financial performance. Provide financial insights and recommendations to support decision-making. Lead and support the accounting team to achieve department objectives. Lead month end processes with the support of 3 direct reports Collaborate with internal stakeholders to streamline financial operations. Assist in the preparation of audits and liaise with external auditors as required. Play a lead role in the roll out of systems and processes (project and transformation) Profile The Financial controller will have or be: A degree in accounting, finance, or a related field. Professional certification such as CPA or CA is highly regarded (or equivalent qualification). Strong understanding of financial principles, budgeting, and compliance. Proficiency in financial software and tools. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills. Ability to manage and mentor a team effectively. Experience in the retail, FMCG or manufacturing industry is an advantage.
