We are currently seeking a caring and reliable Kitchen Assistant/Cook to join our friendly team at Gumleigh Gardens Hostel in the Riverina Murray Region. About the Role This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who enjoys working in a fast-paced kitchen environment and takes pride in preparing nutritious, home-style meals for our residents. You will support the delivery of high-quality food services while helping create a warm and welcoming dining experience for residents. Weekend availability is required, with shifts available across various days and times. What You’ll Be Doing Assisting with meal preparation and cooking fresh meals Supporting kitchen operations and food service delivery Table service and clearing duties Maintaining cleanliness and food safety standards Working collaboratively with the care and hospitality team Helping provide a positive dining experience for residents What You’ll Bring Experience in meal preparation and cooking Experience working in kitchens or bulk food preparation environments Understanding of food safety and HACCP standards A positive, team-focused attitude Strong communication skills Flexibility to work a variety of shifts, including weekends Aged care experience (desirable) Current First Aid Certificate (desirable) Why Join UPA?
